Thirty years on Leesburg Pike.
A family-run deli and homemade ice-cream shop that started as a scoop counter in 1996 and grew into the all-day neighborhood spot Falls Church knows today.
Hi, we're Mike's.
We started in 1996 as Lazy Sundae — just a little ice cream counter making everything by hand in the back. Two years in, we added a full-service deli, stole a few recipes from Mike's old Brooklyn neighborhood, and started serving breakfast all day because that's when people wanted it.
Twenty-nine years later, not much has changed. We still churn our own ice cream. We still cure our corned beef. The Reuben still looks like the Reuben. And Mike is still — let's be honest — a little lazy about it, which is how he wanted it.
A short timeline.
